Kayanna's counseling approach is collaborative, meaning she partners with you, the client, and assists you in working towards your goals.

Her theoretical orientation can be described as a combination between family systems theory and Bowenian theory. The goal in therapy is to help the client to impact enough change in the system in order to accomplish greater functionality.

Kayanna assists in working on improving emotional awareness. Kayanna believes that when we are better able to sort through our emotions and our thoughts we can achieve greater self-awareness. As our self-awareness increases we are then better able to understand our behavior and even change it if we so desire.
